Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) held meetings in Rockford with Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey and the Rockford Economic Development Council. At the meetings, Congresswoman Bustos heard firsthand from both Mayor Morrissey and the Economic Development Council about their needs and priorities in Washington, including the need for lawmakers from both parties to come together to create jobs and put the middle-class first.
“Today’s meetings with Mayor Morrissey and the Rockford Economic Development Council were productive and informative,” Congresswoman Cheri Bustos said. “We talked about what Rockford needs from their representatives in Washington, including their strong desire for Congress to come together to create jobs and put the middle-class first. I am committed to fighting for Rockford in Washington and traveling back as often as possible to continue to hear firsthand from my constituents.”
This was Congresswoman Bustos’ first visit to Rockford since taking office one week ago today. After the meetings, Congresswoman Bustos pledged to come back to Rockford as often as possible to hear from constituents, small business owners, community leaders and elected officials, and vowed to fight day and night for Rockford in Washington.
