Congresswoman Cheri Bustos Joins Congressional Hockey Caucus, Cheers on Blackhawks as They Look to Keep Historic Streak Alive

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) announced that she has joined the Congressional Hockey Caucus, a bipartisan group of lawmakers dedicated to ensuring that the sport of hockey can be enjoyed by everyone.

The Congressional Hockey Caucus is co-chaired by Congressman Mike Quigley (IL-5), a fellow Illinoisan and Blackhawks fan.

“As a real life hockey mom of three boys who has spent countless hours driving across our region for hockey tournaments over the years, I know firsthand the important role sports play in building a strong work ethic and developing good character,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos.  “That’s why I’m excited to join my fellow hockey-fan lawmakers in the Congressional Hockey Caucus in order to make sure future generations of children get the same opportunities to enjoy hockey as my boys did.  Like many other hockey fans in our state, I’ve been inspired by the Chicago Blackhawk’s historic start to their season and look forward to them continuing their streak tonight against the Minnesota Wild.”
