Cheri Bustos Hosts Manufacturing Roundtable
PEORIA – Community leaders gathered around the table today to get their voices heard.
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos invited them to the Community Workshop and Training Center to talk manufacturing and job creation.
She first toured the facility to see how it is helping job growth.
Then community leaders and the congresswoman had an open discussion about upcoming legislation and projects.
“We’ve spent this entire week talking to people trying to get ideas, and I’m heading back to DC on Sunday. And I like to be able to go back, talk to our legislative teams and say, ‘what can we do about this to help our economy?'” Bustos said.
During the roundtable, Bustos mentioned a new digital manufacturing lab in Chicago. She hopes some of the hubs will land in Peoria or Rockford to spark job growth.
