Bustos Statement on Illinois Stay at Home Order

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) released the below statement today, following the announcement of Governor J.B. Pritzker’s stay-at-home order:

“Today, Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that Illinois will join other jurisdictions in taking significant steps to reduce the rapid spread of the coronavirus throughout our communities.

“It is important that Illinoisans and Americans work together to put the health and safety of our families, and of each other, first.

“We must all continue to stay focused on practicing the preventive measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health, as well as continue taking the proper steps to prevent the continued spread of this virus.

“I want to thank Governor Pritzker for his leadership. Our state has faced dark days before, but our communities are strong, our people are resilient and, together, we will weather this crisis,” Congresswoman Cheri Bustos said.
