BUSTOS STATEMENT ON EXPORT-IMPORT BANK REAUTHORIZATION
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) released the following statement after she helped pass The United States Export Finance Agency Act of 2019 out of the House, which would reauthorize and expand the Export-Import Bank for ten years:
“The Export-Import Bank supports hundreds of jobs in our community and contributes to the economic well-being of our region. The bank has played an important role in supporting local manufacturers like John Deere, Caterpillar and AAR Aircraft Services so they can continue to grow our local economy and create good-paying jobs for Illinoisans.”
BACKGROUND
The Export-Import Bank is the official national export credit agency that finances the export of American-made goods from companies nationwide – including small businesses. In Illinois’ 17th Congressional District, 13 total exporters have worked with the Export-Import bank amounting to $255,000,000 of total export value.
