Bustos, Durbin Announce $900,000 Investment in Quad City International Airport

ROCK ISLAND – Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) announced $900,000 in federal funding for infrastructure improvements and upgrades at Quad City International Airport. The grants were awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration. This project will fund Phase 2 of 2 to update outlying gates and secure areas.

“The Quad City International Airport is absolutely critical for our local economy and I’m proud to help announce these funds to improve it,” said Congresswoman Bustos. “By making investments in our transportation infrastructure, we’re ensuring that the Quad-Cities community is a great place to live, work and raise a family.”

This is great news for the Quad Cities and the state of Illinois. Today’s funding will help pay for much-needed security upgrades at Quad City International Airport,” said Durbin. “Responding to the ever-changing safety needs of our state’s airports is critical, and I will continue working to make sure Illinois has access to the transportation and infrastructure grants that keep travelers and airport workers safe.”
