Bustos recently visited Rock Island Arsenal with Senator Durbin and Under Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy to discuss the Arsenal’s future
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) applauded the Army’s plan to invest $30 million to support advanced manufacturing capabilities at the Rock Island Arsenal’s Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center. This news comes on the heels of a discussion last Friday involving Congresswoman Bustos, Senator Dick Durbin, Under Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy and General Gustave Perna, Commander of the Army Material Command.
“Last week, we showed Under Secretary McCarthy all that the Rock Island Arsenal has to offer as a critical component of our national defense strategy, so it’s no surprise to see the Army making this $30 million investment in the Arsenal’s future,” said Congresswoman Bustos. “We are so proud of the important job that all of the hardworking men and women at the Rock Island Arsenal do each and every day – and with this commitment to invest in advanced manufacturing, we are positioning the Arsenal to remain strong and competitive well into the future.”
