WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Peoria) and U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) announced today a $2.5 million grant for General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport.
The grant will fund the milling and overlay of 4,700 feet of the airport entrance road, as well as soil stabilization and pipe replacement to prevent further erosion.
“I’m pleased today to announce this important transportation investment in the General Downing Peoria International Airport,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. “Today’s grant will help the airport continue to grow and meet the region’s infrastructure and transportation needs while also creating jobs and growing the local economy.”
The grant was awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration.
